WORDLE Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the WORDLE mobile app by Ayane Labs uses, why, and the choices you have.
WORDLE does not require an account, login, email address, or real name to play. The app creates a random player ID on your device; it is not linked to your name, phone number, or contacts.
Information Stored on Your Device
WORDLE stores your current game, Daily results, statistics, streaks, coins, language, word length, and settings on your device so the game can remember them.
Leaderboard and Score Backup
To run the leaderboard and to restore your scores if you reinstall the app, WORDLE sends the following to our game server: your random player ID, your leaderboard nickname (created automatically, for example "Player4600", and changeable in the app), your scores and game statistics, your device platform (iOS or Android), app language, time zone offset, and when the app was last used.
Your nickname and score are shown publicly on the in-app leaderboard. The server is hosted by Vercel and the data is stored in a Turso database. We can also use your player ID to send you a coin gift inside the game.
Notifications
WORDLE can remind you about the Daily puzzle. If you allow notifications, the app registers a push token (through the Expo push notification service) together with your app language and time zone offset so reminders arrive in your language at a sensible time. You can turn notifications off in the app or in your device settings at any time.
In-App Purchases
Coin purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive your card or payment details. We use Adapty to confirm purchases and deliver what you bought; Adapty receives purchase details and technical device information for this purpose.
For Google Play purchases, our server receives Google's purchase notifications so that coins can still be delivered when a payment completes later (for example, a pending payment). For this we store the order number, product, purchase time, country, and the player ID the coins were delivered to. These records are deleted after 60 days.
Analytics
WORDLE uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the game is played and to improve it: for example games started and finished, screens viewed, coins spent, rewarded ads watched, purchases (product and price), and app version, device model, and operating system. Firebase assigns an app instance ID. Analytics is collected only from real phones and tablets, not from test devices or development builds.
Advertising
WORDLE uses Google AdMob to show ads. Ads may include banner ads during gameplay and rewarded ads when you choose to watch one, for example to earn coins.
Google and its partners may process information such as device identifiers, IP address, approximate location, app activity related to ad delivery, diagnostics, and advertising interaction data. This processing is handled by Google according to Google's policies.

Consent and Privacy Choices
In regions where consent is required, such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, WORDLE may show a consent message before personalized advertising is used.
You can choose whether to allow personalized ads where this choice is available. If you do not allow personalized ads, ads may still be shown, but they may be less relevant.
iOS App Tracking Transparency
On iOS, WORDLE may ask for permission to use Apple's advertising identifier through the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, WORDLE will not access the IDFA for tracking.
Daily Configuration
WORDLE may request a small remote configuration file to check whether the Daily word schedule requires an app update. This request is used to keep Daily challenges consistent across app versions.
Support Emails
If you contact us by email from the app, your email app includes your message and technical details such as app version, platform, device, operating system version, and your player code (your random player ID), so we can find your leaderboard entry or send you a coin gift. We use support emails only to respond to you.
Deleting Your Data
WORDLE has no accounts. To ask Ayane Labs to delete your WORDLE data from our server:
- In WORDLE, open Settings and tap "Email Feedback" (this adds your player code to the email), or write to ayanelabs@gmail.com and include your player code if you have it.
- Ask us to delete your WORDLE data.
Within 30 days we delete your leaderboard entry: your player ID, nickname, scores, game statistics backup, push token, language, and time zone offset. Google Play order records are kept for at most 60 days so that pending purchases can still be delivered, and are then deleted automatically. Analytics data held by Google Firebase is kept according to Google's retention settings. Data stored on your device is removed when you uninstall the app.
Children
WORDLE is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Third-Party Services
WORDLE uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK for advertising and ad consent.
- Google Firebase Analytics for game analytics.
- Adapty for confirming in-app purchases.
- Apple App Store and Google Play for app distribution and payments.
- Expo push notification service for notification delivery.
- Vercel and Turso for hosting the leaderboard server and its database.
- GitHub for the static configuration file and legal pages.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
